Who is Ian Puleston Davies?
Actor | Writer | Director | Producer
Ian Puleston-Davies is an award-winning actor, writer and director whose career spans film, television, theatre and comedy. He brings decades of professional experience to his work, with a particular reputation for creating complex, compelling and often gritty characters.
As an actor, Ian has worked extensively in both the UK and US, with credits including Marcella, Tin Star alongside Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks, and Pennyworth. His experience of working across such a wide range of productions gives him a wealth of practical knowledge to share with actors at every stage of their career.
Ian is also an accomplished writer. He co-wrote the BAFTA-nominated Dirty, Filthy, Love with Oscar-nominated writer Jeff Pope, which went on to win a Royal Television Society Award, a Broadcast Award and a Mental Health in Media Recognition Award.
He subsequently moved behind the camera, making his television directing debut with Time Out for the BBC's Moving On series, created by Jimmy McGovern. In 2023, Ian made his feature directing debut with Bolan's Shoes, starring Timothy Spall and Leanne Best. The film won Best Film at the National Film Awards and received a BAFTA Cymru nomination.
Ian is now also working as a producer with Minera Studios and continues to develop new film and television projects.

Why Invest?
IAN IS AN ACTOR'S ACTOR.
He is an incredible, highly respected director who helps you understand the text, unlock your character, and get the very best from your performance. He’ll challenge you, support you and help you discover things in your work that you may not have seen before.
This unique experience — as a phenomenal actor, talented writer, director, and producer — gives Ian an unusually broad understanding of the industry and the creative process.
His workshop offers actors the opportunity to learn from someone who has experienced professional storytelling from almost every side of the camera.
You’ll learn new skills, gain confidence, and be directed by a hugely talented and busy professional who is still working at the highest level. And alongside the practical work, Ian will share his experience and wisdom about the industry, giving you an insight into what happens beyond the audition room and what it takes to build a career as a working actor.
This is more than simply spending a day acting. It’s an opportunity to learn from someone who understands performance, text, storytelling, directing, and the industry itself, and to put that knowledge into practice.
He is a legend for a reason!

I just love attending Ian’s classes. It’s the most I have learnt from a workshop, even from watching other actors. And I have so much fun.
